Bad hunter, bad neighbor, lousy human!
Message:

I walked my dog around our field yesterday after work as we do every single day. This time was a bit different though.
As we got to the upper corner, three deer jumped up out of some trees & bushes that they like to hide in. This is not unusual and happens every other day or so. The dog loves to chase them a little. But going up hill and at the end of the field, the dog ususlly stops within 50 feet or so while the deer run up the hill. But this time was different.
The dog stopped as usual, the deer kept running as usual, I laughed as usual after calling the dog and telling her to stop. The deer were just out of sight, about 100 feet away when the first shot came. Then I saw the hunter. He was positioned on a road (driveway) just 300 feet from me in plain sight. He was shooting at the deer just a hundred feet from me, inbetween us! He was also shooting across private posted land, into my private posted land, AT ME!
There was no way he could not have seen me if he saw the deer. They were brown in brown woods. I was a bright orange, as I always wear my hunting coat up there this time of year! I could see him plain as day. I yelled. He took a second shot. I yelled again. He took a third shot! I yelled a lot and let him know I could see him.
Now he must have realized that not only did he almost shoot a person, after missing the deer, but was breaking more than one law. He ran into the woods and hid. When I saw that I moved closer to get a better view and see if the deer was down. He popped his head up and looked. I yelled again and let him know that there were people over here and he was shooting illeaglly. He ran back into the woods without any acknowledgment at all.
About 10 minutes later, I heard laughing and joking, then they got in their suburban and started driving down the driveway. I ran down the hill and tried to catch them at the road. Of course they were a bit faster and I only caught them driving away.
This inconsiderate, lousy human being is a disgrace to all hunters and should not be allowed in the woods, let alone with a gun! He gives a bad name to all hunters and almost killed another human being without any concern at all, and then laughed about it with his budy! A great joke at the bar after the hunt I suppose. "Hey, I amost killed someone today"...
This 'neighbor' shoots up there 5 or 6 days a week all year long and already has a bad reputation in this valley. And now he's almost killed me. I can't say for sure that the shooter was my neighbor, but if not it was certainly a friend of his. I should have called the Sherrif or DEC. But I try to be a good neighbor. Sometimes I make a mistake too... Next time maybe I'll just shoot back? Unfortunately, I have too much regard for human life, even idiots like this one...
Sorry, just had to rage a bit here. It's not often people try to kill me...
