Will it never end? Just as the people of South Bristol band together to fight the obscene wind mill farm proposed for South Hill, a California company is now trying to build a similar 'farm' in Bristol! I have to say "thanks" again to the Daily Messenger for keeping us informed about these threats to our environment. I can only hope that the good folks of Bristol also come together and fight this battle. Maybe it's about time all the people come together and form a coalition against such threats? Once the truth is known about these "wind mill farms", no intelligent person could possibly be in favor of them. It's bad enough to think they are corporate investments. Ignorant to think it's for the good of the environment! They are simply money making schemes funded by our tax dollars! And "our electric bills will go down"? Yep, that's why they charge 1.7 cents per KW hour MORE for wind generated power! Our bills will actually go up! And that's after we foot the bill for the construction and maintenance! I've been told that a full 90% of all the electric power generated goes directly or indirectly into the production of aluminum (bet ya didn't know that one!). It's sadly funny that these 300 foot tall monsters are made of aluminum. How many years do they have to be in operation before they pay back the bill for their own creation? It's about time the poeple woke up, investigated the truth about wind mills, got together and fight this thing to the end! Sorry, just got in a 'soap box' mood. All too true though.... |
